Irreverence and drama combined in a perfect bohemian style.

As irreverent as it is intense, as playful as it is dramatic, Maria Llado's unconventional sense of style has made her an unavoidable name in architecture and design.
The Spanish designer has a constant presence in prestigious design publications, around the globe, and has as clients some of the most influential names in the world, like Fashion icon Giorgio Armani who hired her to design his Madrid showroom. Woody Woody Allen also filmed scenes for his 2008 film Vicky Cristina Barcelona at the designer's home, Torre en el Putxet, in Barcelona.

The daughter of Jose Lladó Fernandez-Urrutia, a former Spanish ambassador to the United States and administrator of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, Lladó spent her high school years in Washington, D.C., where she took art courses at the Corcoran College of Art and Design.

An intense interest in art was inherent in his family: his grandparents collected international contemporary works, as well as paintings by old masters, so he became familiar with these genres from an early age. Back in Madrid, he studied graphic design at the School of Arts and Photography and then in London, at the Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.

It is clear that she puts all her passion into the spaces she creates and her work is cemented by a deep knowledge of the area, travel, training and solid background. The spaces she creates are full of theatricality and, at the same time, harmony, mixing pop and baroque like no one else.

She combines antiques and old pieces, worn by time and the stories they have lived, with contemporary furniture and iconic pieces, creating theatrical atmospheres of drama and intensity that are a stone in the ocean of current minimalism.
The richness of her aesthetic is based on the premise that everything makes sense, where nothing seems to make sense. She is incredibly challenging and the only rule it seems to obey is the rule of there being no rules! Eclectic and unconventional, her irreverence certainly makes her one of the most interesting names in the interior design scene, where nothing is left to chance and every detail is carefully thought out, like her white painted floors, so original and bold.

I personally love this bohemian side so strongly felt in Maria LLado and I fervently believe that things can have multiple lives and serve multiple purposes and interests. I love this principle that nothing is old and everything can be cool, so let's have the courage and wisdom to dare.

Take a look and let me know in the comments, what do you think about this stunning houses.
